Do your front park lamps go out when you switch on the headlamps? If so then they are
working the way they were designed. There was a law passed that made it mandatory for
them to stay on after 1968, was that same law that required side maker lamps.
To do this mod you will need one Quick Connecter or Scotch Lock, some time,
a few tools & a good light, as you will be working under the dash.
Remover the headlight switch, Pull switch knob out and press on spring-loaded release
button on top of switch and pull knob and rod out. Use a wide blade screwdriver to remove
ferrule securing switch to dash, then pull switch down. If you are working on a 1964 to
1966 truck, you are on the wrong page. On 1960 to 1963 trucks use the diagrams below.
You need to connect the wire from post #1, Parking lights, to the wire on post #5,
Taillights, use the scotch lock for this. Now reinstall you light switch.
Your front parking lights are now front marker lights and will stay on with the headlights.
